Hello, I want to talk about many facts about Australia, then about the animals, after that about the climate in Australia and then more about the climate in Sydney. Then you will hear many facts about Sydney.
Facts about Australia.
Australia was discovered by European in the 17th century. It broke away from Eurasia about 50 million years ago. Most of Australian area is desert, but there is enough water and huge sheep. Castle (was soll das bitte sein, Riesenschafschlösser!?!) and wheat ranches. The population is about 23 million people, 50.000 of these are Aboriginals.

Animals in Australia
Australia has got a great wildlife world. The kangaroos are the most famous animals of this country. There are more than 12 different kangaroos species living all over the continent. They are herbivores. And other animals in Australia are Poultry animals, also kangaroos, koalers, opossums, bagmouses (was soll das sein?) , wombats and much more (wieso setzt du hier kangaroos, koalas, opossums, bagmouses, wombats mit Poultry animals, also Geflügeltieren gleich?) .
A third of the snakes in Australia are poisonous.

Climate in Australia .
In Australia the weather is moderate all year round. In the Northern States the weather is usually warm, while in the Southern States it is quite cool in winter. Australia is also one of the driest continents on earth .

Sydney
In Sydney the weather is very sunny. The summers have warm to hot temperatures and the winters are mild.
Sydney is not the capital city of Australia – that’s Canberra - but the biggest one in Australia. It has a population of 4,6 million people, almost twice as large as Berlin.

Points of interest in Sydney.
One of the most famous building in Sydney is the Sydney Opera House. It is called one of the most popular modern buildings of the 20th century. It’s the landmark of Sydney. The Opera House is 180 metres long and 67 metres high and needs much electric power. There are 645 kilometres of cables in it. Inside the Opera House there are five big theatre halls with a total of 5532 seats, where you can watch different things like culture, operas and theatres.
The biggest room is the “Concert Hall“. Mainly it’s for choirs, symphonies and concerts but also for film shows and big events.
Another room is the “Opera Theatre“. Originally it was for symphonies but now it’s an important room for the opera and the ballet.
The “Drama Theatre“ is for productions of drama, dance and presentations.

Another famous building is Harbour bridge. The Harbour Bridge in Sydney was opened on 19th March 1932. The bridge is 1149 metres long and 134 metres high. It`s the world`s largest steel-arch bridge. The bridge is the main connection between Sydney and the Northshore crossing the harbour of Sydney. People who live there just call the bridge ”coat hanger”, because of its shape.
Also very interesting is the Sydney Tower, which is an observation and communication tower and with its 305 metres the second tallest in the Southern Hemisphere. The opening of the tower was on 23rd September 1981. People in Australia call the tower “Centrepoint“, few people say “Sydney Tower“.

That was my presentation about Australia
