On his 11th birthday a man called Hagrid tells him the truth about who he is and so Harry visits the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There he has a lot of fun and passes adventures

Plot:
When Harry was a baby Lord Voldemort attacked the him and th lord lost all his power and nearly died. But before this happened he killed Harry’s parents.
So he has to live by the Dursleys. They treat him badly and he also does not know that he is a wizard. On his 11th birthday a man called Hagrid tells him the truth about who he is and so Harry visits the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
There he makes friends, Ron Weasley and Hermine Granger and has a lot of fun. But there are also enemies some people who hate him like Draco Malfoy and Professor Snape. Quidditch is the most popular wizard's sport. Harry is allowed to play in the house team of Gryffindor. He is an excellent player and so Gryffindor wins a lot of games.
This year the Philosoper's Stone which gives his owner life forever, is hidden in Hogwarts. It is secret and only the headmaster Albus Dumbledore and a few other teachers know about it. In spite of this Harry, Ron and Hermine get to know about it and the thin Snape want it for the Dark Loard. They decide to get the stone before Snape will do so. They enter the trapdoor and have to pass many adventures and troubles. At last only Harry is left and to his big confusion it is not Snape who tries to steal the stone but Voldemort in Mr Quirrals and you can see his face on the head from quirrals. So It comes to the fight between them . Up to now Voldemort's power has not returned completly and he is also not able to touch Harry because of his mother who died for her son and so he survived. With that Harry prevented that the Dark Lord could return.

Harry Potter
When he was a baby he survived the attack of the Dark Lord Voldemord. At this attack the Dark Lord lost all his power and so Harry is a hero. But his parents were killed before this attack and so he doesn’t even know. Untill his 11th birthday he lives by his mother’s sister and her family (his only relatives). But then he visits the Hogwarts School where he makes friends, has a lot of fun and has a lot of adventures.
Quotation: "I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me."

Albus Dumbledore
He was the only person the Dark Lord was afraid of when he had all his power. Dumbledore is a very famous and well known person in the wizard-world. Many people also say that he is stronger than Voldemord never was and will be. He has the merlin medal which is the highest medal you can get and up to now he is the headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since a lot of years.
Quotation: "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
Style: The English in the book was easy to understand because it is a book for children. The story is told by a neutral narrator.

Ideas:
The story is funny, but also exciting and thrilling. It is a book for every age. It is the first of now six Harry Potter books. The book was also filmed and had big sucess. The book and the film both are world-famous.

Comment:
I liked the book because it is very interesting and funny. I also read it and the following in German.
