My English presentation about Coca Cola

Hello, today I`m going to talk about Coca Cola.

There are some claims about Coca Cola and I want to find out if they are TRUE or FALSE.

First Claim: Coca Cola contains cocaine.

Well, let`s have a look at the history of Coca Cola. It was first produced by John Pemberton. He lived at the end of the 19th century and was a pharmacist in Atlanta (USA). Pemberton was admitted to morphine. He was very interested in the cocaplant, hoping that cocaine might stop him from morphine. In 1887 he was able to patent Coca-Cola, which also contained cocaine. Two days after his patent application was granted, he sold his rights to dealer Candler for just $ 2300 to raise money for his addiction. The following year he died.
Since 1902, Coca-Cola has no longer cocaine. However, extracts of coca leaves were also used as flavoring agents.
The Coca-Cola-Company officially denies the presence of cocaine in any of its products. There has never been any cocaine in Coca Cola - not in the past and not in the presence, is what they say. Fact is that the company has a special permit to introduce coca leaves.

This claim was TRUE in the past, but it is FALSE today.

Second Claim: Santa Claus is an invention of Coca Cola.

This is a very interessting question and I researched the Internet. I have found out that Santa Claus was described about 100 years before. The representation of Santa Claus we know today does not come from Coca Cola.
But why do so many people think that Santa Claus is an invention of Coca Cola?
The reason for this lies in an advertising campaign of the company. Already in the 1920`s, Coca Cola has Christmas advertising with Santa Claus. In 1931 the cartonist Haddon Sundblom, the son of Swedish immigrants, designed a red-and-white Santa Claus. Until 1964 he drew at least one Christmas man for the Coca Cola advertising every year and he coined the image of the modern Santa Claus. Therefore many people associate Santa Claus with Coca Cola.

This claim is FALSE, because Santa Claus was described about 100 years before.

Third Claim: Coca Cola can dissolves the stomach.

Supposedly Cola can dissolve a whole steak. Fact is, it does not happen a lot, if you put a steak into Coca Cola. After a day the steak doesn`t look very appetizing, but it is still there. The reason for this myth is the small amount of phosphoric acid which Coca Cola contains. But at this minimal use it will not harm a steak or the stomach.

This claim is FALSE, because there is no truth in this myth about Coca Cola.

I hope you enjoyed my presentation. Do you have any questions?

Hallo,

danke für die Korrektur und den Verbesserungsvorschlag.

Ich weiß, dass dieser Satz komisch klingt, habe aber keine Idee, wie ich es besser ausdrücken kann.

, he sold his rights to dealer Candler $ 2300 to raise money for his addiction.

(Er verkaufte seine Rechte an dem Händler Candler für gerade mal 2300 US-Dollar, um seine Sucht zu finanzieren.)
