Most of us have discussed at least one time if social media is good or bad. There are many arguments for and against the use of social media. Social media brings many dangers with it. Examples for this dangers can be the privacy.
But can we generalize that social media is bad? Has social media turned from a blessing into a curse for many? In the following I will answer this question.

I don’t totally agree that social media has turned from a blessing into a curse.
A negative aspect of social media is definitely that no information is truly private in the online world. There are complicated privacy settings and many people trifle with their privacy, either because they don’t know the harms that can come from sharing personal information on social media regardless or because they don’t know that everyone has access to their personal data. But just because of that point, we can’t say right away social media is bad. Of course social media can turn from a blessing into a curse, but if people pay attention to what they share and if they pay attention to their privacy, I don’t think that happens very often.
Not social media is bad, the dealing with social media and the dealing with one’s own privacy in social media is crucial.
It is very important that all people, especially teenagers, use strict privacy settings and are savvy about the individuals they allow to view their social media profile.
Another disadvantage of social media is that it can lead to isolation. Extreme usage of social media has reduced the level of interaction with humans.
In social media networks the interaction with other people is effortless. That’s why face to face communication reduces more and more and many of us lose the flavor to be together under one roof.
But social media also has positive aspects, for example that it is easy to connect with your friends in social media and social media has also opportunities for businesses.
In conclusion, social media brings many negative points, but it is important to mention that social media has a few positive aspects too. That’s why social media isn’t just a bad or a good thing, it stands somewhere between.
Social media is a part of our lives and not social media is bad, the dealing with social media is determining. If people deal with social media right, it won’t turn from a blessing into a curse.
