Fehler im "Englisch-Referat"? Bitte sagen :)

Because of that they rushed into his bedroom and all they could see was a part of a mattress sticking out of a big hole. After they realized what had happend they called the police and the rescuers. Jeff`s brother jumped into the sinkhole and tried to find him, but in the end he had to be rescued by a police man. The rescuers tried everything to find Jeff, but it was too dangerous because the hole was still growing. So they had to interrupt their efforts. The police said that they think Jeff is dead because there is no sign of him still living. Three other adults and a child were in the house at the time the sinkhole openend up and they are all still alive. Now the hole is about 15 meters deep and 30 meters wide.
