3 minute speech

Moin.

Meine Aufgabe ist es, einen 3-Minuten-Vortrag über ein beliebiges Thema zu halten.
Ich soll das Thema an die Tafel schreiben und mit 3 Worten schriftlich beschreiben.

Well, my topic is the Hamburger Sport-Verein e.V.
Right here on this picture you can see some HSV fans in the HSH Nordbank Arena showing a lot of love to their favourite soccer club.

The Hamburger Sportverein was found in 1887 and today is a german multi-sport club. Its largest branch is its football department. The football team is one of the country`s oldest, most well
known, and best performing clubs, with the unique distinction of having played continuously in top-flight German football since the end of World War I; the team has never been relegated from any
top-flight league, a record in Germany.

I became an HSV fan about 10 years ago.
It all started when I visited the "Volksparkstadion" with my soccer club.
I instantly fall in love with the great atmosphere in the stadium and the way my new favourite club is playing.
If I remember right, it was the first game of Antony Yeboah for the HSV against VFL Bochum and Yeboah made a goal which I did not see, as I got disturbed by a teammate of mine.

The HSV counts over 65.000 members and therefor is the third biggest sportclub in Germany.
Some people might ask themselves, what makes over 50.000 people come every second weekend to the HSH Nordbank Arena and what is so interesting about seeing 22 people hunting a stupid ball.
It is not only about the game itself. It is also about meeting other people and friends and have fun with them by cheering for the club. It is about tradition and for some people it is a
lifestyle.
By the way the HSH Nordbank Arena is the latest name of the stadium, where the HSV soccer team is playing their home games. It has 57.000 seats.

Anyway.
As already said in the beginning, the Hamburger Sportverein is not only a soccer club.
They also offer other sports like boxing, basketball, handball and stuff like that.

Why did I choose this topic?
First of all I want to say that my main idea was to talk about Queen Elizabeth II.
But I recognized that free speaking about her is very hard and I would have had to use the internet as an information source way too much, because I do
not know enough about her.
That let me think of something I am very interested in and I have plenty of informations about in my brain and this is my favourite soccer club, the Hamburger Sportverein!
So I decided to talk about something I really like, even if it might bore half of the class...
