englisch -> vortrag usa

Hey, ich muss nach den Ferien einen Vortrag über meinen Schulaustausch in den USA halten.
Bei meinem ersten teil bin ich mir an manchen stellen unsicher ob man das so schreiben kann (dick gedruckt)..
wenn ihr mir helfen könntet oder vorschläge hättet wie ich etwas besser shreiben kann wärs echt nett..

In October this year I went to America with a group of 20 pupils and two teachers. And two weeks before the big trip I got a letter with the information about my family, about which I was very excited. Their house is in East Lyme Connecticut, a small town which lies directly on the Atlantic Sea. It consists of two different villages, the Village of Niantic and the Village of Flanders. My family lives in the Village of Niantic, which has popular beautiful long beaches. It presents seafood restaurants, a big park for camping with picnic areas along a very famous casino. East Lyme has a population of 18.000 people.
When I woke up on the 16th of October I wasn’t in East Lyme yet. I was still in Germany. It was 4.30 and there wasn’t time for sleeping, I had to be at the meeting point at 5.30. We arrived at 3 pm at New York airport, from Germany to the USA is a clock change about 5 hours earlier. A bus took us all to East Lyme, the first impressions were fantastic. I sensed New York like three different parts. One part are the impressive high-rise buildings with thousands of lights, which look best in the dark, the second part are the beautiful villages with the typical American houses with the white porches, where the sun is always shining and the third one, the slums were the Hip Hop and Rap was born, with the graffiti walls and the basketball places.
At 6 pm we finally arrived in East Lyme, our host families waited for us at the East Lyme High school. Everybody went home with his family and got to know them better while the dinner .
The next day was very exciting. Waking up in an unknown house without your family can be very upset , but my host family, the Maloney’s were more than nice to me. They woke me up at 6 am, because the school bus picked us up at five to seven every morning. The girls’ name I stayed with was Liz. She showed me around the high school and she took me with her while her school lessons.
Everything is different from the American High schools to the German schools. The pupils aren’t in class with always the same classmates. They choose their subjects and in every subject they are together with different classmates. The classes are much bigger in America, but the classrooms and the whole school too. They have a swimming pool, a football-place, tennis-places and a very big cafeteria. They have special rooms for speeches, designing, art and music. There school days begin at 7.30 am and they end at 2 pm. They pupils have 4 school lessons every day, which are 85 minutes long.
