Hey, ich musste für Englisch zum Thema New York ein Handout (< Nochmal in schön und PDF) vorbereiten. Kann jemand das bitte Korrektur lesen?


The City that never sleeps.
New York is often called "the city that never sleeps.“ or “Big Apple” It is the second largest city of the world. It has an area of 780 square kilometres and over eight million inhabitants. Over 50 million people visit New York every year. But the weather in New York is rarely good. On average, temperatures in New York range between 8.1 and 16 degrees and it rains over 95 days a year. New York isin the east of the USA. But it’s not the capital of the USA – this is Washington.

Green paradise in the big city!
In the middle of Manhattan in New York is the Central Park, a very famous public park in the USA. The park opened in 1857, it covers an area of 315 ha. The Central Park is the most visited park in the United States, the second largest park in the world. There are gardens, playgrounds, a zoo and much more. For visitors who are interested in history the center park has a lot to offer. Again, and again monuments were consecrated (wurden geweiht) here.
The Statue of Liberty, a gift from the French.
The statue of Liberty is not only a landmark of the USA, it is much more. It is a kind of a symbol for America. The French people gave the Americans the “Lady Liberty” for the 100th anniversary of independent. The statue of liberty stands on the liberty island and is 93meter high. The construction of the statue began in 1875 and was completed in 1886. She used to welcome all immigrants who came by ferries to America.

The most famous street in the USA. The
Broadway is the most famousandthelongest street in the USA with 20 km.It`stheonlystreet which goes not straight like the Streets and Avenues. It goes northwest from the tip of Manhattan and crossing Times Square at 42nd Street, at the heart of the theatre district, where Broadway is known as Great White Way. On Broadway there are many theaters, musicals and cinemas. And many actors that have played in a theatre on the Broadway later used their chance to get roles in big film projects most of that in Hollywood.

The most famous newspaper since the 70s. The New
York Times is an American newspaper based in New York City with worldwide influence and readership. Founded in 1851, the paper has won 122 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other newspaper. Since the mid-1970s, The New York Times has greatly expanded its layout and organization, adding special weekly sections on various topics that complement regular news, editorials, sports, features and much more. Since2008,The New York Times has been organized into the following sections: News, Editorials/Opinions- Columns/Op-Ed,
New York (metropolitan), Business, Sports of The Times, Arts, Science, Styles, Home, Travel, and other features. The headquarter is the New York Times Tower. The New York Times Tower is a skyscraper on the west side of Midtown Manhattan, New York City that was completed in 2007.Its owner is The New York Times Company. Since 1996 they publish their newspaper on their website. The Times now has nearly 2.5 million digital-only subscriptions and earns over three billion euros a year.

The Empire State Building was one of the fist skyscraper in New York. It was built in a record time of only 18 months. In the Empire State Building are 60.000 tons of steel and was 40 yearsthebiggest skyscraper in the world. IntheEmpireState Building are living every day 10.000 people and 20.000 to 25.000 people work in it. It is one of the world’s eight wonders (the only one built in the 20th Century). In 1993 the Empire State Building was sold by a new owner for 23 million €. The Empire State Building is in the 350 Fifth Avenue between 33rd and 34th Street.

Englisch ist nicht meine Stärke, aber schon im Anfang könnte ein Fehler stecken. Ich glaube nicht, dass N.Y. die zweitgrößte Stadt der Welt ist, vielleicht eher die zweitgrößte von Nordamerika...

Deine Werte könnten nicht stimmen, Du solltest es noch einmal recherchieren. Auch am Anfang sind sehr viele Flüchtigkeitsfehler/Tippfehler wie Worte zusammengeschrieben. Das dürfte Dir selbst auffallen.

Hallo, aber Du schreibst 780 Quadartkilometer (sqr kilometres...). Ich glaube nicht, dass N.Y. die größte Stadt der Welt ist. Was ist mit Shanghai, Tokio, Mumbai, Manila. Betrachtest Du nur den Stadtkern? Dann solltest Du das auch so schreiben.
