Wäre uuunglaublich lieb, wenn ihr ein Auge drauf werfen könntet und word order und grammar überprüft !:D :*

The life of Bruce Martin is very extravagant.
The thirteen-year-old leads a life in two different worlds. On the one side he spends time with his mother in Aurukun, Cape York and lives a traditional life of hunting and fishing with the Wolomby clan. On the other side, he lives with his father David, stepmother Julie and brother Rex, in Canberra the rest of the time. To master some troubles in the world of white people he has to study for being able to keep up with other ones. In Canberra Bruce has the opportunity to get a well education as a student at the “Grammar School”. The well- behaved youngster is of the opinion that he has fused both his worlds. For Bruce the living in several places where he is surrounded by different cultures is a part of his life by now. Being an Aborigine when he is spending his time up there in Cape York, Bruce feels like a part of the family. In Canberra he is part of the system, what means, that he can enjoy a good education, which he couldn’t have in Aurukun. The housemaster of Bruce says that he goes down well with his other classmates and that Bruce doesn’t get any special treatments. Even if Bruce is with his mother’s family he has to do his scholastic duties. Since he was five, Bruce is travelling to visit his clan together with his white brother Rex, who became also a member of the Wolomby clan.

To handle with both sides of his life is clearly not easy for a boy who is no more than thirteen years old. Bruce has to catch up on the school lessons in which he couldn’t be present when he is in Cape York. Also He could have a longing for one identity which he can make his own. Because of these switch between two different worlds it could be possible that he doesn’t own one culture for himself. While he has to compete with his white classmates he also has to keep his relationship to his aboriginal origin. This could have negative aspects which lead to physical and also to emotional weakness because of a constantly travelling, the power he uses for the competition towards white people and the distance to the people he loves, who stay in the other place.

But there are also good sides of such a life like Bruce has got. One of the most important benefits he got is the bi-cultural life, in which he lives in. These offers him the chance to make an own image of his different worlds. When Bruce visits his mother in Cape York, he always is connected with his cultural roots. He can live out both lifestyles by join them with each other. This diversion in his life leads to a stronger personality and he is able to be in the knowledge that everyone can stand well with other people, no matter which cultural circle they belong to.

In my mind the lifestyle of Bruce is an example to show us that we should be able to respect ourselves even if we aren’t related to each other.

On the one hand, he spends time with his mother in Aurukun, Cape York, and lives a traditional life of hunting and fishing with the Wolomby clan. On the other hand,

brother Rex in Canberra: kein Komma nach Rex

he has to study to be able to keep up with others.

a good education

“Grammar School”: Heißt die so? Sonst einfach nur grammar school.

well- behaved: ohne Leerzeichen

when he spends his time

which means

education which he couldn’t have in Aurukun: kein Komma vorm Relativpronomen

Even if Bruce is with his mother’s family he has to do his school duties/duties for school.

Since he was five, Bruce has been travelling

who also has become a member

To deal with both sides of his life

Also he could

classmates, he also has to keep his relationship

because of the constant travelling, the power he uses for the competition with white people and the distance to the people he loves (kein Komma) who stay in the other place.

But there are also good sides of such a life as Bruce has. One of the most important benefits he has got is the bi-cultural life (kein Komma) he lives in

This offers him the chance to create/form/construct an own image of his different worlds.

by joining them with each

to respect each other even if we aren’t
