Immigrant in the 18th/19th centuries (USA)


Between the 18th and the 19th century cam a lot of people as immigrants to the USA.
The immigration in the US influenced the cultural history of the country significantly.
There was various reasons for theis immigration mostly religious, political or economic motives.
Because of economic problems came German people to the US at the beginning at the 18th century.
About 9 percent of the american people were German.
Also English immigrants came to America from 1675 to 1715 because they hope to find religious freedom. They settled in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.Immigrants came in 1775 from Ireland ,too.
In the year 1800 the USpopulation was grown up to 5,5 Million people.

The most immigrations waves cames in the 19th century. In the years between 1800 and 1860 immigrated mainly people from England, Ireland, Scotland and Germany. After 1860 to 1890 cames especially british and scandinavian people to the USA.
