Summary of the newspaper article „Political asylum for German family who refuses to send their children to school“

The article „Political asylum for german family who refuses to send their children to school“ is about a German family, called „Romeikes“, who got political asylum in the USA.

Mr.
and Mrs. Romeikes refused to send their children to school because of religious reasons. But the German law doesnŽt give the right for homeschooling. Mr. Romeikes has the opinion, the school teaches a wrong view of life. Besides the children arenŽt protected from unchristly wheelings and dealing.
Consequently he didnŽt allow his children to go to school and taught them at home.
The Romeikes got problems with the justice and thatŽs why they emigrated to Memphis (Tennessee) in USA.
The American law explained Germany has offended against the fundamental rights. Moreover the justice compared the Romeikes with the political refugees from Iran and North Korea.

This incident caused many different reactions in Europe and in the United States of America.
