Why is it difficult to find a definition of globalization?

Globalization is “a process, a condition, a system, a force and an age”. It is difficult to define globalization because it’s difficult to determine the origin. In order it is characterized by many facts like economy, politic, culture and interconnections. Moreover some people think that it is only a process to a new constellation named ‘planetarity’. Many questions can’t be answered, as already mentioned, where is the origin, what is driving globalization, is it an uneven process and is it a continuation of modernity or a radical break.
Many scholars tried to find answers to define the term and found during their research four additional characteristics. First, globalization creates new social networks, second, the stretching of social activities. The third characteristic is the intensification and acceleration of social exchanges. And at least globalization is not only a macro-structure. It involves also the micro-structure, the subjective plane.
The last quality is the most difficult part of globalization. Globalization influences of different levels. It depends from which country and society you live, which norms and values you care and much more. So everyone define the term globalization different because everyone perceives it differently.
All in all we can’t really find a definition of globalization. We can only see a few properties.

the term "globalisation" can be defined (as it can be read on http://tinyurl.com/lsobd2).

but if you want to give a short information about the context, you`re getting the problem of its complexity, so that it`s no more possible to create a short enough text with all the singular cases and their connections.

btw...in your text -especially the second paragraph- you`re mainly dealing with the social/cultural structures...there should be more :P

Many scholars have tried (1)to find answers to define the term and they have found four additional characteristics in their researchs. . First, globalization creates new social networks, second, the stretching of social activities (2) . The third characteristic is the intensification and acceleration of social exchanges. And at least is that globalization is not only a macro-structure. It involves also the micro-structure, the subjective plan.
The last quality is the most difficult part of globalization. Globalization influences the life of each individual on different levels . It depends on which country and society you live in , which norms and values you live for and much more(3). So everyone defines the term globalization differently because everyone perceives it differently.

(social activities are stretched? - whatever that means; oder meinst du: social activities have undergone stress?)
3) never, never, never write "and so on" oder "and much more" in a test or say these words in an oral examination!
