Cartoon Analysis

Hallo Leute,

bräuchte mal jemanden der etwas Ahnung von Englisch hat.
Schreibe morgen eine Klausur über cartoon analysis und habe zur Vorbereitung mal den cartoon vom anderen Kurs analysiert, der die Klausur bereits geschrieben hat. Nun bräuchte ich mal eine Meinung oder Verbesserungsvorschläge dazu, besonders am Ende bin ich mir ziemlich unsicher.

Hier meine Analyse:

The title of the cartoon from Keith Tucker drawn in 2010 is “AMERICAS BIGGEST EXPORT…”. The cartoon is from the website http://www.whatnowtoons.com and criticizes the loss of domestic jobs from America.

One can see 8 people on the left in the foreground which are standing on an island and are grabbing after the ship in the background. Above the people are three speech bubbles. The first says “Don’t Go”, the second says “Come back” and the last, which is the biggest, says “Our Jobs” which can be connected with the title.
In the middle of the cartoon a little bit in the back one can see two people. The one on the right is swimming after the ship and the other one is jumping behind him in the water and wants to follow him. In the background on the right one can see a blue ship with lots of containers. One can see the words “Corporate Greed” on the back. Under the cartoon is the exclamation in red capital letters “What now?”.

The cartoon criticizes the outsourcing which takes currently place in globalization 3.0. The people on the left are man and women and also from different social classes so one can see everybody is affected. The ship shows that that people from other countries for example India get these jobs. The jobs get “exported”. Outsourcing brings a company more competent or cost efficient worker. This can be connected with the words on the ship “Corporate Greed” which means that a company does not care about how the work is done but that the work is done cheap.

The cartoon shows that worker from America suffer from outsourcing and do everything to get their jobs back. Moreover one can see that the main interest of companies is cost efficiency. In my opinion it easy to recognize the opinion of the cartoonist. The cartoon is also very effective because it is easy drawn an actual theme which can be understood by everybody.
