Was haltet ihr davon? Ist sie sprachlich korrekt?

Since the first attempt to start a fire,
our civilization has come a long way.

By improving the conditions of human life,
Science and Technology has given mankind the chance,
to create the modern society of the 21st century.
(Den Teil find ich selber merkwürdig)
But Science and Technology has also placed us in a position where we are able to destroy ourselves.

Außerdem würde ich "But they also have now brought us to a point where we have the ability to quickly extinguish ourselves if we handle them too irresponsibly." schreiben.

Since the first attempt to ignite a fire, our civilization has undergone a huge development. Science and technology have improved the conditions of human life drastically. But the have also brought us to a point, where we are able to extinguish ourselves, if we handle irresponsibly.

Since the first attempt to ignite a fire, our civilization has undergone a huge development on a permanent cossroads between danger an benefit. The conditions of human life have been drastically improved by science and technology. Meanwhile this developmenr has lead people to a point of ability, to develop conscious and not just instinctive steps to a sustainable way of prosperous life. But this point also can be a point of no return for mankind, which could extinguish itself by thoughtless handling of science and technology.
