Ich habe die Aufgabe bekommen über die Weihnachtsferien ein science fiction buch zu lesen (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) und anschließend eine kurze summary über das Kapitel 7 des buchs mit ca 350 Wörtern zu verfassen.
Der Abgabeterrmin ist am 10.1.17

Der Inhalt sollte soweit passen. was für mich relevant ist, sind grammatik, rechtschreibung und das zusammenspiel der zeiten (letzteres v.a. ab dem unteren drittel des textes).

Chapter 7 - The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy

Right before the earth became eliminated, the hitchhikers Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect were rescued by the Dentrassi into a spaceship of the Vogons. The Dentrassi are a species of alien who cook for the Vogons. The only reason they picked up the two hitchhikers is because they like irking the Vorgons. The latter are one of the most unpleasant races in the galaxy, who normally wouldn’t do anything to help any other species with something. The captain of the Vogon fleet is Prostetnic Vogon who is cruel, bureaucratic and like any other Vogon he writes terrible poetry. Because of him Arthur and Ford are prisoners of the Vogon in chapter 7 of the novel The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.

When you start out reading this chapter, you will learn how dangerous poetry can be.
In this novel, (especially Vogon) poetry could make people die of internal bleeding. So it is bad news for Arthur and Ford when Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz starts to read his poetry to them.
Especially because they are strapped into “Poetry Appreciation Chairs”. Furthermore, they have additional devices hooked up to make sure they really get the “poetry”. With a callous smile, Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz begins reading, and right away the prisoner writhe (krümmen) in agony (=torture). After a few sentences Jeltz stops and wanted to know from the prisoners how good his poem was. The poem was cruel, but rising to the occasion, Arthur tells the Vogon that he liked it and alternately tries with Ford to impress with a handful meaningless but impressive sounding formations of words. Nevertheless, they can’t sweet-talk their way out of trouble and as a result of this, Jeltz orders Arthur and Ford off the ship where they would die within 30 seconds.
Now Arthur and Ford have got a second chance and now they try to convince the Vogon guard that he doesn’t have to throw them into an airlock and subsequently into space. However, after a long discussion about the guard’s live, they failed and get thrown into an airlock.
A little time later the door opens and both friends are thrown out into space.
