Englischdialog - Casinos in Indian reservations

Ich habe mal einen Dialog über Casinos in indian reservations geschrieben und würde mich freuen, wenn ihn jemand überfliegen könnte, um die ganz großen Fehler zu korrigieren.


A : Hi, i had seen a movie about tribal gambling in indian reservations and it would be interesting to hear what you think about this!

B : Hi, oh, that is a good question. Let me think. I think, that is not good because many people could believe that it it a loss of culture and traditional values. That could happen because of people, who spend most of their time at the casinos instead of practicing their cultural traditions with families. So, children will grow up thinking that gambling is an Indian tradition.

A : I see your point, but I do not think so because the cildren are able to recognize that gambling is not an Indian tradition. Think it over! Gambling can be succesful in stimulating the reservation`s economy and casinos offer jobs and reduce the unemployment rates!

B : Do you really think this? Better jobs like managing positions held by non-Indians who take up about 60% of the income. And people might lose their money, so poor people become poorer and they might lead to depression and consequently to drug and alcohol abuse.

A : You are too critical. Buliding of casinos often goes along with improving the infrastructure of a reservation. And because of the increase of tourism, there will also be more casinorelated facilities such as hotels or conference centers. And the new attractiveness can be used to exhibit indian art and to bring the culuture an traditions closer to the tourists.

B : I Do not really share your opinion. Visitor might only come fpr gambling and not for their interest in culture. Besides, often corrupt owners and investors are the real winners and nobody knows where the money really does go! And gambling can be a dangerous source for addiction and the casionos do not helb the people!

A : I did not see it so, but you are right. Casinos in reservations could help to build a better economic stability but it has a lot of negative points, too.
