On the 18th August, 1949, master shoemaker Adolf Dassler founded the adidas Ltd. With the profit of the world champion`s title the German national team won in Bern in 1954, the so-called miracle of Bern, the football boots from the house adidas became known worldwide.

The German team used Adi Dassler`s football boots
with exchangeable tunnels - at that time a revolution. The enterprise PUMA (ich glaube die schreiben sich komplett groß) of Dassler`s brother Rudolf, who had co-operated with Adi Dassler in an open partnership at first, was long time one of the keenest competitors in the field of (Präposition bei "compete" wäre ja "for" sports shoes, passt hier aber nicht so recht, weil die beiden ja nicht um Schuhe komkurrieren).

Both companies produced the whole range of sports shoes for a huge number of sports. Adidas increasingly produced/fabricated (s. Satz davor) other sports articles, at first footballs, and since 1967 also sports clothings. When Dassler passed away in 1978, the enterprise, which meanwhile was a world market leader for sports articles, was continued by his family. Although the production was increasingly shifted into low-wage countries, adidas got into an economically skew (Bin mir nicht sicher, ob man das so sagt) position in the middle of the 1980s. The family enterprise had to be opened for investors foreign to the family. In 1990 the family Dassler sold 80 percent participation to the French enterpriser Bernard Tapie.

After the company had been acting as adidas Internationally (? Hießen die echt so?) of the holding Ltd., it was converted into the adidas AG and into a corporation in 1993. In 1995 the stocks of adidas were placed at the stock exchange in Frankfurt. Two years later adidas took over the French sports article manufacturer Salomon S.A for about 2.5 billion €. From now on the enterprise was called adidas-Salomon AG.

Although the production had increasingly been (12)shifted into low-wage countries, adidas got into corporate distress (13)in the middle of the 1980s. The family enterprise had to be opened for investors foreign to the family. In 1990 the Dassler family(14)sold an 80 percent participation to the French entrepreneur (15) Bernard Tapie.

meine Anmerkungen:

1) so sieht das Datum englischer aus
2) ohne best.Artikel
4. "the house adidas" geht nicht
Bedeutung, "Christmas fruit cake", genommen.)
7)Der Bezugsname steht vor dem Personalpronomen
8) wenn zuvor "had cooperated" steht, muss hier "had been" folgen
9) ohne "Adi`s" kein Bezug zu "keenest"
10) "meanwhile" verlangt ein Handlungsverb (become); "be/was!" ist zu statisch.
11) continued (to do what?) hier fehlte das Verb
12)vgl. 10. "increasingly" verlangt "Handlungsverb"
13) corporate distress lt."Leo" der entspr. Fachausdruck für -"geschäftl. Schieflage".
14)"the family Dassler" ist deutsch!
15) Wortfehler "Unternehmer" = entrepreneur oder businessmnan
