This was a rest station for ships.
The colony, which is slowly increased was in Dutch-owned.
The settlers dispread in western cape up to the Khoikhoi and taking their land.
After 1770 the settlers reached in the east the frontier of Bantu and they had series of war with the people of the Xhosa.
The forces of Great britain occupied the region cape of good hope. The cape becomes a british colony. The Dutch settlers want to escape from the domination of british.
The discovery of diamonds has led to strong economic growth and immigration of many Europeans.
Then their was a war between Britain and the independent Dutch colonies.
