Should the monarchy be abolished?
I do not think that the monarchy should be abolished because it is part of England`s traditions and history.
Most of the time they do good work. For example they are involved in a lot of charity work, and they also open up relationships with other countries, especially the Commonwealth.
Furthermore the monarchy bring a lot of tourism for London and other parts of the country. People come from all over the world to see the famous palaces and gardens, the changing of the guards and other famous sights.
Additional the monarchy symbolises national untiy and purpose the outside world and England`s own population.
So,the head of the state representive the whole state and is an important symbol of England`s cultural heritage.
All in all I think that the monarchy must be reformed and changed to help England`s public. At the moment their role is to have state visits and to make acts of parliament laws. But when they help the people, they might be respected by them.
