Hi.
Today I`d like to tell something about my marvellous city called Sonneberg. There`s a lot to report on and I prepared a powerpoint-presentation. So you can keep track of.
History
In the 13th century Sonneberg was founded by minister alien of the dukes of Andechs-Meranien below the castle Sonneberg.
1349 Sonneberg got urban rights of countess Jutta von Henneberg.
From 1826 to 1918 Sonneberg belonged to the dukedom Sachsen-Meiningen.
From the old-established wood goods production the toys production developed from the 16th century.
About 1700 the company Dressel (from 1873 company Cuno and Otto Dressel) the biggest toy exporter was founded in Sonneberg.
Our town became a toys production centre with international standing.

Culture and sights
The toy museum was opened in 1901. Here the visitor finds toys history and can let itself be kidnapped in the time of the children`s days of one`s own.
The "old Sonneberg city hall" is an important historical testimonial in a number of four city halls of which the history of the town certainly was from the 15th century.
This baptistery has been made presumably and therefore the probably oldest lasting work in the Sonneberg room created by human hand in the 9th century.
The municipal gallery Sonneberg was opened in September 1996. Exhibitions are shown to the presence to the forming and applied art here.
