HISTORY - TARTAN:
Probably an invention of the 18th century, the regionally assigned, not clan-specific 1745: Several clans worn the same pattern like "huntly tartan" which is also a region in Scotland. Oldest finding dates from the 3rd Century BC- 1746: Tartan as the kilt was forbidden, but allowed back after riots in 1782.

Symbolism & todays meaning
Typical of the kilt is the tartan, it symbolizes the membership to a clan. A pattern isn’t reserved to a clan-today meaning, rather holiday clothes. It is often worn by soccer and rugby fans. Today the kilts are very individual in pattern, quality and plait. The kilt has no serious symbolism or meaning.

Du hast das echt super gemacht, doch eins fehlt mir noch, bevor ich dir die Credits zuschreibe. Sind denn irgendwelche Fehler bei den History of Tartans bzw. bei Kilts? Definition sagst du ja selbst, sei richtig.
